The Fámjinstunnilin is safety approved and will open for public today 25.06.2025.

The Fámjinstunnilin is located in Suðuroy, between Fámjin and Øravík. The tunnel is just above 1200 meters long. FAT was held in El-Service and approved 7th April, and the safety equipment was approved 20th June.
We have installed lights, emergency lights, battery backup system, SCADA safety system,17 emergency stations, with emergency phones and fire extinguishers.
There are 2 safety control rooms are located outside each portal, where personnel can control the safety inside the tunnel.
The safety equipment is controlled by a Alarm and Control System from El-Service. This system is also beeing used for most of the other tunnels in the Faroe Islands.
We wish all in Suðuroy, and in Fámjin congratulations and safe journey thru the tunnel.

The article about the Fámjinstunnilin finishing and opening is really interesting because it shows how much planning and safety work goes into building a modern tunnel. I liked how it explains the lighting, backup systems, and control rooms that help keep drivers safe inside. It reminded me of a time when I had a heavy study schedule and felt overwhelmed, and I used online hesi exam help to better manage my time while keeping up with important topics like infrastructure and engineering. It makes me think good planning always leads to smoother and safer results.
